Born in 1957 in Kamuli Districht and Musoga by tribe, Pieter went to the Primary School in Bugaya. After that he joined Nyanja Farm School and completed is with the City and Civil Certificate of the London Institute in Agriculture. He joined Primary Teaching as licenses teacher till 1983. In that year he went back to work with the "Akamba' group and trained as a wood carver, specializing in animal carvings. He opened a craft shop in 1989 in Jinja, Mainstreet Plot 23. He joined Ngoma Artist Workshop, affiliated to Makerere School of Industrial Art and Design and attended further artist workshops at Namasagali University in Kamuli (sponsored by Triangle Art Trust), at Buluba and even the Khoj International Artist workshop in India (1998). In 2000 Pieter became a member of the Uganda National Artist and Craft Association of which he is an executive member at the National Theater, owning a stall at NO 4, behind the theater. Currently he is director of P.I.L. hand craft at Mainstreet in Jinja and still a free lancing artist, specializing in sculptures and paintings.
